Chocolate Chip Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. soda
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. cocoa
2 c. applesauce
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chocolate chips
nuts (if desired)

Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs and beat well.
Stir in other ingredients.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20-25 minutes.
Top with chocolate chips and/or nuts while warm.
