Ingredients

2 pkg. yeast
1/2 c. water
2 c. scalded milk
3 Tbsp. margarine
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. sugar
5 beaten eggs
5 c. flour
2 c. raisins
Preparation

Dissolve yeast in warm water with 1 teaspoon sugar.
Scald milk.
Add margarine, salt and sugar.
Cool to lukewarm.
Add yeast mixture, 3 cups flour, eggs and raisins.
Add remaining 2 cups flour.
Let rise until double, approximately 25 minutes. Drop by spoonfuls into deep fat at 375\u00b0 to 400\u00b0 until golden brown.
