Christmas Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. brown sugar
2 c. boiling water
3/4 c. Crisco
2 c. raisins
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ground cloves
2 tsp. nutmeg
dash of salt
2 level tsp. soda
3 1/3 c. flour
1/2 to 1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Boil mixture of first 8 ingredients for 5 minutes.
Dissolve soda in a little cold water and add to mixture.
Let cool.
When nearly cold, add flour and nuts.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes or at 325\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes.
