Brown Sugar Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. butter, softened
    1 (16 oz.) box light brown sugar
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    5 eggs, separated
    3 c. sifted cake flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk, at room temperature
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Cream butter and sugars.
    Add egg yolks one at a time.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt together and add alternately with milk.
    Beat 2 minutes.
    Beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry.
    Fold whites into cake mixture with vanilla and nuts.
    Pour into greased and floured 10 cup tube pan and bake 1 1/2 hours or until cake pulls away from edges of pan and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
    Cool 25 minutes in pan, then turn out onto rack.
