Christmas Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 Tbsp. Karo syrup
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    5 c. flour
    1 c. nuts
    1/2 lb. seedless dates
    1 pkg. red candied cherries
    1 pkg. green candied cherries
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Beat eggs; add to creamed mixture and add Karo and vanilla.
    Sift flour, soda and salt together; add to butter mixture.
    Add rest of ingredients.
    Make into 4 rolls and place in refrigerator.
    Chill 24 hours; slice 1/4-inch thick and bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
