Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    cucumbers
    powdered alum
    dill seed
    garlic bulb
    1 qt. vinegar
    2 qt. water
    1 c. salt
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers in cold water.
    Slice and pack in jars.
    Put 1/4 teaspoon powdered alum to 1 quart.
    Add 2 teaspoons dill seed and 1 garlic bulb.
    Mix vinegar, water and salt; bring to a boil.
    Pour in jars and seal.
    Let sit for 6 weeks.
