Old Time Molasses Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick (1/2 c.) oleo
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 large egg or two small
    1 c. sorghum molasses
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar.
    Stir in ginger and cinnamon; add salt and egg.
    Beat until well blended. Stir molasses and buttermilk.
    Sift together flour and soda. Combine with batter; beat just enough to incorporate flour.
    Pour into greased 10-inch skillet.
    Bake in 325\u00b0 oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until done.
    Serve with lemon butter.
