Spanish Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. top round steak, cut 2 inches thick
    3/4 c. water
    salt and pepper
    sliced onions
    1 can solid meat tomatoes
    2 Tbsp. grated cheese
Preparation
    Put steak in casserole and add water; bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for about 1/2 hour, basting every 10 minutes.
    Remove from oven; sprinkle with salt and pepper and cover with a layer of sliced onions and sprinkle with salt.
    Bake 15 minutes longer.
    Cover with layer of tomatoes (the solid meats of 1 can of tomatoes will serve).
    Bake again 15 minutes.
    Remove from oven; sprinkle cheese over the top and place in the oven until the cheese is melted. There will be a thick gravy deliciously flavored with onions and tomatoes and the steak will be very tender.
