Ingredients

1 lb. box light brown sugar
1 c. butter
3 medium eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
4 c. sifted all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. pecans or walnuts, finely chopped
Preparation

Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs and vanilla to creamed mixture and beat well. Sift together flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Add nuts. Put dough in waxed paper lined loaf pans and place in refrigerator overnight. Slice and bake in a 375\u00b0 oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
