Gingerbread Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. molasses
    1 egg yolk
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Sift flour, then measure.
    Sift flour, baking powder, salt and spices together; set aside.
    Cream shortening.
    Stir sugar and molasses into shortening.
    Add egg yolk; mix well.
    Stir in flour mixture.
    Chill dough.
    Roll 1/4-inch thick on lightly floured board or pastry cloth.
    Cut cookies.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Cool and decorate.
