Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. dry bread cubes
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    4 slightly beaten eggs
    4 c. scalded milk
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. raisins (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Soak bread in milk for 5 minutes.
    Add sugar, butter and salt.
    Pour mixture slowly over eggs.
    Add vanilla; mix well.
    Add 1/2 cup raisins, if desired.
    Pour into greased 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
    Bake in pan of hot water for about 1 hour, or until firm.
    Serve warm.
    Serves 8.
