Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. margarine
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream margarine and sugar in large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer.
    Beat in egg and vanilla flavoring.
    Combine flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt.
    Blend into creamed mixture.
    Cover and chill at least 2 hours.
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Roll out dough on floured surface to 1/8-inch thickness.
    Cut with cookie cutter. Place on ungreased baking sheet.
    Bake 6 to 7 minutes.
    Cool on baking sheet 2 minutes.
    Remove to cooling rack.
    Makes 4 1/2 to 5 dozen cookies.
