Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 lb. cucumbers, sliced
1 1/2 c. small onions, sliced
2 large cloves garlic
1/2 c. kosher salt
ice cubes
4 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
2 Tbsp. mustard seed
3 c. white vinegar
Preparation

Wash, drain and slice cucumbers and onions. Add garlic and salt.
Mix well.
Cover with ice cubes and let stand 3 hours. Drain well.
Remove garlic. Combine remaining ingredients in a large saucepan.
Heat to boiling.
Add cucumbers and heat for 5 minutes.
Pack loosely in hot canning jars.
Process for 5 minutes in hot water bath.
Makes 4 quarts.
