Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cornmeal (not self-rising)
    1/2 c. flour (all-purpose)
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 egg
    4 Tbsp. melted shortening
Preparation
    Beat egg; add soda to buttermilk and add to egg.
    Mix in flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt.
    Add melted shortening. Pour in preheated and oiled skillet.
    Bake at 475\u00b0 until slightly browned.
