Marguerites - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    4 marshmallows
    2 Tbsp. shredded coconut
    2 egg whites
    1/4 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. nuts
    saltines
Preparation
    Boil sugar and water until syrup will spin a long thread when dropped from the tines of a fork.
    Remove from fire.
    Add marshmallows, cut in pieces.
    Do not stir.
    Pour into stiffly beaten egg whites; beat until stiff.
    Add coconut, nuts and vanilla.
    Pile on crackers and bake in slow oven (325\u00b0 to 350\u00b0) until delicately browned.
