Ingredients

2 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
1 tsp. each: salt, baking powder and soda
1 Tbsp. corn meal
1 3/4 c. buttermilk
2 large eggs
Preparation

Sift the dry ingredients with the flour.
Mix in shortening as for pie crust.
Add the buttermilk and unbeaten eggs.
Bake.
