*Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 c. hot water
    2 1/2 c. shelled, unblanched peanuts (raw)
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Combine sugar, corn syrup, water and salt.
    Bring to rolling boil.
    Add peanuts; stir constantly.
    Cook slowly until mixture reaches 293\u00b0 on candy thermometer.
    Remove from heat; add baking soda.
    Beat rapidly and spread as thin as possible on buttered cookie sheets.
    When cool enough so that you can work with it (about 5 minutes), pull to stretch and make it even thinner.
    When cold, break into pieces.
