Mom'S Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 (12 oz.) boxes Ore-Ida hash browns
    1 qt. half and half
    1 stick butter
    2 Tbsp. chives or onions, chopped
    salt and pepper
    Parmesan cheese
    paprika
Preparation
    Place hash browns, half and half, butter, chives and salt and pepper to taste in large pot over medium heat. Stir until consistency of pudding. Reduce heat after thawing begins
    to avoid scorching. Place potato mixture in a greased 3-quart casserole. Sprinkle with cheese and paprika.
    Bake, loosely covered, for 20 minutes.
    Uncover and bake 25 minutes at 350\u00b0. Makes a lot and can easily be cut in half.
    Recipe serves 10 to 12.
