Russian Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1/2 c. confectioners sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour (not self-rising)
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. finely chopped nuts
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Mix thoroughly butter, sugar and vanilla.
    Work in flour, salt and nuts until dough holds together. Shape into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased baking sheet. (Optional:
    Roll in ground nuts.)
