Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine
1 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. toasted sesame seed
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar; mix in egg and vanilla well.
Sift flour, soda and salt; stir into creamed mixture.
Chill for 1 hour.
Form dough into small balls; roll in sesame seed.
Place on greased baking sheets; flatten with bottom of glass.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 370\u00b0.
Small drop of red food coloring may be placed in center of each cookie before baking if desired.
Yields 10 dozen.
