Beef Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. lean stew meat
1/4 c. flour
1 c. hot water
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. thyme
6 small onions, chopped
1 c. green peas
2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. oil
2 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/2 tsp. bay leaf
6 carrots, sliced
6 medium potatoes
Preparation

Season
meat with salt; roll in flour.
Brown slowly in oil in
heavy
saucepan.
Add
hot
water,
tomato
sauce and seasonings.
Cover tightly.
Simmer gently, about 1 1/2 hours. Add potatoes, carrots and onion; cook 45 minutes longer.
Add peas last 10 to 15 minutes cooking time.
