Ingredients

1 lb. can beets
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. vinegar
1 doz. hard-boiled eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
3 to 4 whole cloves
1/2 c. cold water
Preparation

Boil together all ingredients except eggs for 10 minutes. Pour over peeled hard-boiled eggs.
Refrigerate for a day or 2 before serving.
