Buttery Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    1 c. butter
    2 c. chopped peanuts
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Heat and stir sugar, syrup and water in pan.
    When sugar dissolves and comes to a boil, add butter.
    Stir often after syrup reaches 230\u00b0, add nuts at 280\u00b0, stir to hard crack at 305\u00b0.
    Remove from heat and add soda; mix well.
    Pour out on two cookie sheets. Stretch ends with fork.
    Pour into pieces as soon as possible. Makes 2 1/2 pounds.
