Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. fryer (at least), boiled until tender, deboned and cut into small pieces
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 rounded tsp. shortening
    1 egg
Preparation
    Make dough using flour, salt, baking powder, shortening and egg, beaten in cup with enough water to make 3/4 cup.
    You may need more if dough is too stiff.
    Make a real soft dough.
    Roll out on a floured cloth, then cut into thin squares.
    Drop into boiling broth.
    Add black pepper and 1/2 stick butter.
    When done, add chicken.
