Pepper Nuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. margarine
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. corn syrup (dark)
    1 egg
    2 heaping tsp. powdered anise
    1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1 Tbsp. or 2 of water
    flour
Preparation
    Add flour to make really stiff dough.
    Has to be stiff enough to stay together in long rolls, about 1/2-inch in diameter.
    If not stiff enough to do that, add more flour.
    After rolling, let set in refrigerator for a couple of hours.
    Slice in little pieces on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350\u00b0 until brown.
