Scalloped Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small head cabbage, coarsely shredded
    2 tsp. sugar, divided
    1 c. mild or medium Cheddar cheese, divided
    1 c. stuffing mix or bread crumbs
    1 tsp. salt, divided
    1/2 Tbsp. pepper, divided
    3 Tbsp. flour, divided
    4 Tbsp. margarine, divided
    1 1/2 c. hot milk
Preparation
    Boil cabbage approximately 15 minutes (do not overcook); drain.
    Put half the cabbage into buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole. Sprinkle half the salt, pepper, sugar and flour, then add half the cheese and margarine.
    Repeat layers.
    Top with hot milk.
    Last, cover with stuffing mix.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 20 minutes or until topping is well browned.
    Yields approximately 6 servings.
