Cholesterol Split Pea Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. or 1/2 lb. dry split peas
    2 qt. water
    1 carrot, chopped
    2 stalks celery, chopped
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1/2 tsp. liquid smoke
    1 1/2 tsp. dried parsley
    1/4 tsp. onion powder
    1/8 tsp. garlic powder
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
Preparation
    Place all ingredients in a large pan.
    Cover and simmer 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
    If too thick, add a little more water and stir. Serve immediately or freeze.
    Add a few potatoes if desired. Serves 6.
