Homestyle Spaghetti Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. corn oil
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 large clove garlic, minced
    1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
    3/4 c. water
    1 tsp. sugar
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. dried basil
    1/2 tsp. dried oregano
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    In 3-quart saucepan, heat corn oil over medium-high heat.
    Add onion and garlic.
    Saute 2 to 3 minutes.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat.
    Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, 40 minutes.
    Serve over vermicelli.
    Makes 3 cups.
