Western Hash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    3 1/2 c. (1 lb. 12 oz. can) tomatoes
    1 c. chopped green peppers
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. uncooked rice
    1/2 tsp. basil
    dash of pepper
    Velveeta cheese, sliced
Preparation
    Brown ground beef; add tomatoes, green peppers, onion, rice, basil and pepper. Cover and simmer 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. When rice is cooked, top with cheese slices. Heat until cheese is melted. Serves 6.
