Cocoa Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    6 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. nuts, finely chopped
    1 pkg. (12 oz.) wafers
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    In medium saucepan, melt shortening. Stir in cocoa until blended.
    Beat in sugar, egg and vanilla.
    Stir in flour and salt.
    Add nuts.
    Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
    Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from oven.
    Immediately place a mint or chocolate wafer in center of each chocolate cookie and press in.
    Remove from cookie sheet and cool completely on wire rack.
    Makes 2 dozen cookies.
