Eggnog - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 eggs
    1 c. sugar
    1 pt. milk
    1 pt. cream
    1 c. rum or liquor
Preparation
    Beat eggs yolks; add 1/2 cup sugar.
    Beat egg whites until stiff.
    Fold in 1/2 cup sugar.
    Mix gently white mixture with yolks.
    Stir in 1 pint each sour cream and milk.
    Slowly add 1 cup (liquor).
    Stir thoroughly.
    Serve cold with grated nutmeg.
    Makes 2 quarts.
