Squash Pickle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 c. sliced squash
    2 c. sliced onions
    1 Tbsp. pickling salt
    2 c. diced green pepper
    2 c. vinegar
    3 1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Combine squash and onions; sprinkle with salt.
    Let stand one hour.
    Combine remaining ingredients; bring to a boil.
    Pack squash and onions into hot jars leaving 1/4 inch headspace.
    Cover at once with lids and screw tight.
    Process in boiling water for 15 minutes.
    Makes 4 pints.
