Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 yeast cakes
    1/4 c. lukewarm water
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1 c. milk, scalded
    5-6 c. sifted flour
Preparation
    Add the sugar and salt to milk and shortening, cool to lukewarm.
    Add softened yeast and eggs to the milk.
    Add enough flour to make a soft batter and then add enough to make a soft dough.
    Turn on a lightly floured board and knead until right consistency.
    Place in a greased pan and turn over.
    Let rise until doubled, punch down and let rise again.
    Make dough into rolls.
