Hamburger Party Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 to 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
2 Tbsp. shortening
1 c. instant rice (uncooked)
1 envelope onion soup mix
1/2 tsp. salt
pepper
1 can cream of mushroom soup
2 c. water
Preparation

Shape ground beef into 4 patties.
Melt shortening in heavy skillet.
Remove from heat.
Spread rice and onion soup mix evenly over bottom of skillet and arrange patties on top.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
Combine mushroom soup with water until smooth and pour over all.
Cover and simmer over medium heat 20 to 30 minutes or until meat patties are cooked through.
Serves 4.
