Strawberry Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. fresh strawberries
    3 c. sugar
    1 large earthenware bowl
Preparation
    Wash and drain berries.
    Stir in 1 1/2 cups of the sugar. Pour into heavy saucepan and bring to a full boil.
    Boil for 5 minutes, stirring with a wooden spoon.
    Stir gently.
    Add the other 1 1/2 cups sugar.
    Stir and bring to a boil again; boil for 15 minutes more.
    Pour into bowl and let stand 24 hours.
    Stir occasionally during the 24 hours.
    At the end of the time period, spoon into small jars and cover with paraffin.
