Homemade Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 lb. beef (including soup bone)
    3 qt. cold water
    3 to 4 onions, quartered
    salt to taste
    1/4 head cabbage, shredded
    3 to 4 c. tomatoes (canned, stewed or fresh)
    5 to 6 medium carrots, sliced
    1 turnip, diced
    3 to 4 medium potatoes, diced
    3 to 4 beef bouillon cubes
Preparation
    Cut half the meat from bone and brown.
    Add remaining meat and bone to cold water.
    Add browned meat, onion and salt to cold water with meat.
    Cook slowly for a couple hours.
    Add vegetables; continue cooking until done.
    This soup is better if used next day.
