Lentil Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. lentils
    5 c. water
    4 carrots
    1 pkg. frozen spinach
    1 onion, chopped
    1 garlic clove
    1 potato, diced
    salt and peppercorns
Preparation
    Put lentils in water and bring to a boil.
    Cover and let stand for 1/2 hour.
    Add remaining ingredients and cook until tender.
