Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1 stick oleo or butter
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1 c. buttermilk
5 egg yolks
5 egg whites, stiffly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans
1 can Angel Flake coconut
Preparation

Cream the sugar, oleo, Crisco and egg yolks one at a time. Add milk and soda mixture alternately with flour.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and vanilla.
Add pecans and coconut.
Bake in 3 layers using 9-inch greased and floured cake pans at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
