Shrimp Creole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1 bay leaf
    2 onions, chopped
    2 green peppers, chopped
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 Tbsp. minced parsley
    1 Tbsp. thyme
    3 green onions, minced
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 lb. peeled, deveined raw shrimp
    2 cans (1 lb. 4 oz. per can) tomatoes
    1 c. water
    2 drops Tabasco sauce
    6 c. cooked rice
Preparation
    Melt butter; add flour and cook until well blended.
    Add bay leaf, onions, peppers, garlic, parsley, thyme, green onions, salt, pepper and shrimp; mix well.
    Cook for 5 minutes, then add tomatoes and water and cook for 30 minutes, stirring often, or until sauce is thickened.
    Discard bay leaf.
    Add Tabasco sauce. Serve over hot rice.
