Better Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. all-purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. shortening
approximately 2/3 c. sweet milk or buttermilk (if using buttermilk, add 1/2 tsp. soda)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 450\u00b0. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt (and soda if using). Cut in shortening until fine; add milk and mix until soft dough forms. Then with floured hands, gently knead dough a few times. Press or roll out on floured surface to 3/8-inch thickness. Cut out and place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 12 to 16 biscuits, depending on size of your cutter.
