Christmas Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 ripe cucumbers, peeled, seeded and diced
    1/2 c. salt
    3 large red and 3 large green sweet peppers, seeded and diced
    4 c. diced celery
    2 medium onions, diced
    5 c. sugar
    1 qt. vinegar
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    1 c. water
    2 tsp. pickling spice
Preparation
    Heat to boiling, reduce heat and cook slowly until cukes look transparent (do not overcook).
    Put in jars and seal.
