Cheese And Tortilla Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 c. onions, chopped
    1 tsp. garlic, minced
    12 corn tortillas, torn into 1-inch pieces
    2 c. shredded Monterrey Jack cheese
    2 (4 1/2 oz.) cans chopped green chilies
    4 large eggs
    2 c. buttermilk or sour milk*
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. freshly ground pepper
    1/8 tsp. ground cumin
    1/8 tsp. dried oregano
Preparation
    *To make 2 cups sour milk, place 2 tablespoons lemon juice or vinegar in a glass measuring cup. Add enough milk to make 2 cups liquid; stir. Let the mixture stand for 5 minutes before using it in a recipe.
