Spinach Dip - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    16 oz. sour cream
    1/2 chopped onion
    2 pkg. Knorr vegetable soup mix
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped spinach
    8 oz. can chopped water chestnuts (optional)
Preparation
    Thaw and drain spinach (pretty dry).
    Add water chestnuts (if desired).
    Combine ingredients; chill overnight.
    Can be served with crackers or pumpernickel or rye bread.
    We usually buy a round loaf of bread and cut the middle out to make a bowl.
    Put the dip in that and serve with the little pieces of bread that were taken out of the middle of the bread.
