Cabbage Au Gratin - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. shredded cabbage
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/3 c. water
    2 Tbsp. margarine or butter
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. milk
    1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    bread crumbs or corn flakes
Preparation
    Place cabbage in saucepan.
    Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt, sugar and water.
    Cover and cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Melt margarine in saucepan.
    Add flour.
    Mix until smooth.
    Add remaining 1/2 teaspoon of salt and milk.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring until thick.
    Add cheese.
    Place half the cabbage in a casserole dish. Pour half of cheese over cabbage.
    Repeat layer.
    Cover with bread crumbs or corn flakes.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
