Tryon Palace Ginger Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. Wesson oil
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    4 Tbsp. molasses
    2 c. sifted plain flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/4 c. sugar (for dipping)
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Mix oil and sugar thoroughly.
    Add egg and beat well.
    Stir in molasses.
    Stir dry ingredients; add to mixture.
    Drop by teaspoonfuls in reserved sugar and form balls coated with sugar.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheet 3 inches apart.
    Bake for 15 minutes.
    Cookies will flatten and crinkle. Remove to cool.
    Yields 5 dozen.
