Ingredients
    1 c. cornmeal
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    boiling water
Preparation
    Scald cornmeal by adding small amounts of hot water at a time. Stir well after each addition.
    Continue until all meal is scalded and is consistency of mush.
    Drop by spoonful into deep hot grease.
    Brown both sides.
    Prefer bacon drippings.
