French Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 medium yellow onions
    5 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. oil
    2 tsp. sugar
    6 c. beef consomme
    3 c. chicken broth
    2 c. burgundy wine
    1 c. white wine
    3 c. water
    2 Tbsp. beef base
    few dashes brandy
    garlic powder and pepper to taste
    2 Tbsp. dry parsley, Parmesan cheese, garlic and cheese croutons
Preparation
    Saute onions in butter and oil in a large pot.
    Cook over medium heat until onions are soft.
    Sprinkle onions with sugar and toss together.
    Add stocks and wine, water and beef base.
    Stir well and bring to boil.
    Add brandy, parsley flakes, garlic powder and pepper to taste.
