Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    3 c. flour
    2 eggs
    2 c. mashed bananas
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1/4 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar, adding sugar slowly and beating until light.
    Add unbeaten eggs, one at a time, then mashed bananas.
    Next, sift the salt and flour together.
    Stir soda in milk.
    Add flour and buttermilk mixture.
    Bake in tube pan or in 2 (9 x 5 x 3-inch) loaf pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour for tube pan and for 50 minutes for loaf pans.
