Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 2/3 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 eggs (unbeaten)
    1/4 c. water
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/8 tsp. ground cloves
    1/2 c. shortening, softened
    1 1/2 c. applesauce
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients into large bowl.
    Add shortening, eggs and about half the applesauce; beat until smooth, about 2 minutes.
    Add remaining applesauce, water and vanilla and beat about 1 minute longer.
    Bake in greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan in a moderate oven at 375\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
