Caramel Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. milk
    2 sticks butter
    3 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Brown 3 tablespoons sugar in a small heavy skillet, stirring constantly.
    While you're browning the sugar, bring all the remaining ingredients, except the vanilla, to a boil.
    Add the browned sugar to the other ingredients.
    Boil all to soft ball stage.
    Remove from heat.
    Add vanilla.
    Let cool about 30 minutes.
    Beat until creamy.
